“? - a simple question mark is what Christina got from me at 2am on a random Friday morning. I was in active labour, contractions 4 minutes apart and a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Without missing a beat she answered, grabbed her go bag and beat me to the hospital even though she was a similar distance away.
Being a newly single mom to a then 3 year old, pregnant and in the middle of a pandemic, I was scared to say the least. But from the moment I arrived to the hospital, through triage, walking through my contractions in the hospital to admission and finally delivery, I can honestly say Christina was my support, my rock, my advocate and my cheerleader all in one during my entire labour and delivery.
I was determined to have a VBAC birth after a highly traumatic cesarean with my first son, followed by a recent traumatic pregnancy loss. I was scared, skeptical and doubted myself knowing what I had gone through the first time and how traumatized I was following that birth and pregnancy loss. Christina stood by my side, attended every vitals check my medical team completed, asked all the questions I was too scared to ask and ensured we were in the best of care. ”

“Christina is a WONDERFUL soul. She provided support to our family after the birth of our daughter. She hung out with both the new baby and older brother so mom and dad could enjoy an evening out at dinner. We came home to a tidy house and 2 tired kiddos in their Jammie’s, ready for a tuck in. We all fell asleep with smiles on our face that night. Thank you Christina!!!♥️♥️”

“I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Christina throughout my pregnancy for both prenatal and postnatal care as well as having her present for my sons birth. Christina was always very professional and caring, I felt very safe under her guidance.
She provided me with a lot of helpful information and answered any questions I had. When it came time for labour and delivery, she ensured that I was prepared for the birthing process. She assisted with pain management as well provided birth photography to make sure the entire experience was documented.
During my postnatal care, she checked in constantly and popped by the house to see how we were all doing and to offer any support or help needed (helping with the baby, or helping with house work or just there to answer to any questions I had).I felt so supported and cared for at all times. Making post partum much easier in those first few weeks. I am so grateful to have had Christina by my side and I look forward to working with her again for any of my other children’s births.

“I immediately picked up on Christina’s calm energy during our consultation and knew that was the type of vibe I needed to bring to my birth. Throughout my pregnancy, Christina checked up on me and helped me navigate decisions with our care team and develop my birth preferences.”
Since we had a 30+ minute drive to the hospital, it was important for me to labour at home for as long as possible. I got to a point where contractions were intense and close together but weren’t lasting long enough to be active labour. Christina made a suggestion to help move baby in a better position so contractions would be more efficient. It worked! Contractions started lasting longer and it was quickly time to go to the hospital. At the hospital, Christina offered so much hands-on support like hip squeezes and counter pressure that made labour more manageable and helped me relax during the breaks. Even though I had my husband there for support, it was amazing having an extra support person so he could focus on talking to me, holding my hand and keeping me calm. After I got an epidural, Christina kept track of the time to make sure I changed positions frequently to help labour progress. It was a relief having her be on top of this so I could focus on resting as much as possible and staying in a good head space. After about 12 hours since arriving at the hospital, our healthy baby girl was born with minimal interventions. During golden hour, Christina helped me feed baby for the first time. Even though our Midwives were offering feeding guidance, they were also busy monitoring myself and baby. It made a huge difference having Christina whose sole focus was to help me and baby start our feeding journey off right. Since that first feed, we’ve had a super successful breastfeeding journey! When I think back to my birth, I feel empowered and have only positive thoughts (I’d totally relive it all again!). I believe that having such a positive birth helped shape my postpartum experience to be super positive as well. I’m so grateful Christina was a part of the best day of our life!
